The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the founding departments of Harikishore Singh Government Polytechnic, Sheohar, established in 2015, with an approved intake capacity of 60 students. The department is dedicated to nurturing technically competent, skilled, innovative, and industry-ready diploma engineers through quality technical education and extensive practical exposure.

The department follows the curriculum prescribed by the State Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Bihar, with a strong focus on outcome-based education, practical learning, skill development, innovation, and professional competency.

NBA Accredited Department

A significant achievement of the department is its accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for the period from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028. The NBA accreditation reflects the department’s commitment to quality education, outcome-based learning, continuous improvement, effective teaching-learning practices, and holistic development of students.
