Student Grievance Redressal Committee
The Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) is constituted to provide students with a fair, transparent and accessible mechanism for addressing their grievances related to academic, administrative, examination, facilities, discipline and other institutional matters.
Objectives
- To provide a time-bound mechanism for receiving and resolving student grievances.
- To ensure that students can raise their concerns without fear of discrimination or victimization.
- To maintain a fair and transparent grievance redressal process.
- To promote a healthy, supportive and student-friendly academic environment.
- To protect the rights and interests of students.
Major Functions
- Receive and examine grievances submitted by students.
- Maintain confidentiality of grievance-related information wherever appropriate.
- Conduct enquiry into grievances and hear the concerned parties.
- Recommend appropriate remedial measures to the competent authority.
- Ensure timely disposal of grievances as per applicable regulations.
- Deal with grievances relating to academic matters, examinations, fees, facilities, hostel, library, laboratory, administration and other student services.
- Maintain proper records of complaints, proceedings and action taken.
- Create awareness among students regarding the grievance redressal mechanism.
- Ensure that students are not subjected to victimization or unfair treatment for raising genuine grievances.
- Forward matters requiring further action to the Principal/Head of Institution or competent authority.
Grievance Submission Procedure
Students may submit their grievance through the prescribed grievance application/online grievance portal, providing relevant details and supporting documents, wherever applicable. The committee examines the grievance and recommends appropriate action to the competent authority.
